Events Options will kick off their 'Walk by Faith - Not by Sight' Lap-a-thon with a corporate 3K relay on February 8 at the UWI Bowl, Mona.
As a part of their annual charity programme, Events Options, a local business enterprise established in 2012 and operated by members of the Church of God International, opted to impact the lives of students who attend the Salvation Army School for the Blind and Visually Impaired by donating part proceeds of funds raised from its inaugural 3K Walk-a-thon to the refurbishing of the school's derelict library.
An aerobic segment, guaranteed to create a very vibrant and high intensity workout atmosphere, will precede the event at 6 a.m., to be followed by the unique 3K relay, with the first 2600 metres on UWI's campus road and the remaining 400 metres to be completed on the grass track down by the Bowl. The day will end with a special feature event for persons with physical disabilities.
The benefit of a good exercise is not all, as there will be trophies, medals and gift certificates for the 3K Relay champions, along with gift baskets and other prizes.
Registration fee for the 3K Relay is $1,000 per adult and $800 per student; $700 per adult and $500 per student for the lap-a-thon and lap-a-thon groups consisting of five persons or more $500 per adult and $300 per student.
The registration deadline is Friday, January 30, 2015. Registration forms can be accessed at York Pharmacy, 91 Half-Way Tree Road and Lee's Food Fair, 86 Red Hills Road.
