The norm for vacationing at any Couples Resort in Jamaica is to be a couple. So it comes as no surprise that the all-inclusive chain continues to host double celebrations each year in recognition of the thousands of guests who grace their properties.
Last Friday, January 16, and Saturday, January 17, were no different, as Couples Sans Souci in Ocho Rios and Couples Tower Isle in St Mary hosted their ninth and 37th anniversary celebrations, respectively.
Tower Isle opened its feast for the taste buds with Jose Oximendi and his four-piece band at cocktails, followed by the amazingly talented Silver Bird Steel Band and Nicholas Laraque on saxophone. The indomitable Gem Myers topped the night's offering before making way for the resort's resident band, Fusion.
Over at Couples Sans Souci, it was all about 'Alegria Cirque Sans Souci', as a snake charmer, a contortionist, and a juggler commenced a night of circus acts. They were all complimented by DJ Bambino, who never disappointed in wowing and amusing the crowd.
For their main event, Soul Dynamics and Dynamite Brothers jumped from single and double trapeze, creating Spanish webs. To further take their breath away, they added an aerial silk performance, and juggled fire, all the while breathing and balancing like the real Cirque du Soliel experts.
The hotel's entertainment staff played the role of clowns, adding to a truly unforgettable evening.
