Why a man should make his girl cry
When you first met your girl, you took her to dinner, the movies, the club. She really enjoyed your company because you were thoughtful, engaging and hilarious. Okay, maybe you were a little corny, but you knew exactly how to make her blush. And when you inched closer, put your arms around her, paused, then kissed her for the first time - she felt desired.
Fun-loving activities are essential to her happiness. It's important to keep on doing the things you did when you were courting her - never become complacent. However, there is so much more to experience. She has a wealth of emotions that will need to be nurtured in difficult times. You also need to accept that you, too, can be vulnerable. It's okay to connect in ways that will allow your insecurities to show.
Getting through that Rough Patch
There are times when she may be going through a rough patch. She's not where she wants to be in her career, she's working out hard but can't lose weight or she's dealing with an unexpected pregnancy. On the surface, she seems to be handling everything okay, but you know differently - she needs to more than just talk - she needs to let it all out.
At first, she may be a little reticent, but she'll become more open as you hold her close and encourage her to talk. When she brings up that sensitive issue, the tears that were restrained will run down her cheeks.
She will feel a little better after getting everything off her chest. As she sniffs, shuffles in your arms and tightens her grip ... a gentle kiss on the forehead will help make her feel secure. You may not have all the answers, but you can provide support.
The next day, a romantic dinner is a nice way to cheer her up. Try to discuss things that she is interested in - maybe she likes to paint, maybe she wants to travel - and there's no harm in remembering some of the wonderful moments that you've shared in the relationship.
On the drive back home, play one of her favourite songs. As she glances out the window and begins to sing the chorus, hold her hand, pull it to your lips and kiss it. Don't let anything ruin the moment. Not even the annoying taxi man who keeps blowing the horn.
When you get home, talk about stuff that invokes laughter. If you're not great at giving jokes, I'm sure you have many embarrassing stories that you could share - stuff that would make her laugh till she cries. Sometimes it's not what you say, it's how you say it.
And when the laughter begins to subside, hold her closely, let down your guard and tell her how much she really means to you. Don't hold back on your emotions. If you are genuine, she will be unable to control the tears from flowing ... and the kiss that follows will be one she'll remember for the rest of her life.
