Made up to jump!
Recently moving back to Jamaica after being in England since the age of 16, make-up artist Mitty Surtz is certainly making her mark on the faces of women.
Carnival make-up takes time and patience and requires detailed work. And Mitty was inspired by costumes of yesteryear: "My carnival shoot inspiration came from the amazing costumes and culture of carnival. For the looks created, I sat down and brainstormed each look and designed it with the thought of the models' face and shape of the eyes in mind. I then sketched my ideas and designed face charts so that I could see my vision a bit clearer. From there, on the day, I 'slayed' my lovely models accordingly.
Here are a few of Mitty's designs.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all my subscribers who have supported my make-up business venture here in Jamaica. I would also like to say a huge thank you to my assistant, Imani, who helped me bring my vision to life on my beautiful models for the day of the shoot. Lastly, I would like to thank my gorgeous models Racquel Tahedil, Kaydiann Kidd, Heidi Baillie, Imani-Jjay Hawkins, Daniella Leon , Jahnel Beecher, Teanna Spence and Tiffany Campbell for being amazing canvases to work on.
