CTL introduces incentives for stakeholders

Caymanas Track Limited (CTL) has joined hands with a number of sponsors, including Cal's Manufacturing, Burger King and A.P. Azar Limited to introduce the first big initiative in 2015 - the 'Performer of the Month' promotion at Caymanas Park as of Saturday, February 7.

This offers cash and other incentives to the top owners, trainers, jockeys and grooms in their respective categories each month, based on the number of winners.

The owner with the most winners each month will receive 20 bags of feed, the winning trainer gets $30,000, jockey $20,000 and groom $5,000.

Cash Incentives

There will also be huge cash incentives for the overall winners and runners-up in each category at the end of the 2015 racing year. The winning owner will receive $250,000 and the runner-up $125,000; trainer $150,000, runner-up $75,000; jockey $100,000, runner-up $50,000; and the winning groom $50,000, runner-up $25,000.

All will be presented with trophies and cash incentives on CTL's Fan Appreciation Day, January 1, 2016.

Promotional Purpose

Denzil Miller Jr, CTL's racing secretary, said, "This promotion is designed to increase competition among horsemen, improve the public awareness, whilst offering great opportunities to showcase our sponsors and their products to Jamaicans."

He further stated that the entire promotion comes with a $1.7-million price tag, including a contribution of $300,000 from CTL.

Participating sponsors are Cal's, Burger King, L.P. Azar Limited, Peak Bottling, Alex's Import, Flexpack, PolyPet Company Limited, O&S Distributors Inc, HAM Stables Limited, New Blue Bombay, Y.S. (1955) Limited, Spring Park Stud, Lorenzo Robinson and Stephan Narinesingh.
