Ron McKay new AmCham president

American Chamber of Commerce of Jamaica (AmCham) has selected a new president, CEO of ADS Global, Ron McKay, who will be confirmed on March 5, at a ceremony set for The Knole Great House in Stony Hill.

AmCham also announced that two vice-presidents and four directors were appointed this month. The VPs are Kelly Tomblin, president of Jamaica Public Service Company Limited and Andrew Pairman of Anbell Group. The directors are: Novlet Deans, CEO of the Environmental Health Foundation; Heston Hutton, managing director of Centralised Strategic Services; Mauricio Pulido, CEO of GB Energy/Texaco Jamaica; and Barry O'Brien, CEO of Digicel Jamaica.

Francis to direct retail banking channels

Owen Francis has been appointed director in charge of retail banking channels at CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank Jamaica, effective January 1.

The banking veteran has worked with FirstCaribbean Jamaica since 1993, starting out as account manager in the corporate banking division but later shifted into retail banking, a segment in which he served as senior assistant manager for the King Street and New Kingston branches; branch manager for Port Antonio; and senior manager for Premier Banking/Wealth Management Centre.

He broke his service in Jamaica in 2008 to take up an acting wealth management position at FirstCaribbean in the British Virgin Islands. He returned to Jamaica to resume work in wealth management and was eventually appointed district manager - north.

Francis was educated in the United Kingdom. He holds a MBA in finance from the University of Wales and a banking diploma from the Chartered Institute of Bankers, UK.
