Shame on Ho Lung for Hanna putdown
THE EDITOR, Sir:
First, let me wish for Father Richard Ho Lung and his team at the Missionaries of the Poor a very successful 2015. In spite of the economic constraints, you do everything you can to help the poor.
On Friday, January 30, 2015, I read your article in The Gleaner concerning Youth and Culture Minister Lisa Hanna as being the 'Disappointment of the Year'. As a mother of four adult children (two girls and two boys), let me put myself in the place of Ms Lisa Hanna's mother and bear the pain of my daughter being put down and chastised by a priest who is supposed to know better.
Fr Ho Lung, you are a man of God. Let's go back to our Bible and see how forgiving God is and how caring and loving he is to all of us. He never turned away from us.
Jesus is always in favour of His 'daughters', because He loved His mother so much. Let us not put Ms Hanna down, but think of the good that she has done. Let us lovingly respect her position.
