Vox pop - Do you believe community policing is effective?
No, I don't think it is effective because at times, when you need them, they are not there, and sometimes, when they do come and you would expect them to say certain things to you, they don't say it.
Rashida Burton, customer service representative:
I don't believe community policing is effective because you still have a lot of crime in the community. I don't think much effort is being put into people's safety.
Marcia Rowe, restaurant manager
Community policing is highly effective in our communities, especially the volatile communities. If the police build a relationship with community members, where they can trust them to give needed information, then we will see a great reduction in crime and violence.
