Top rider completes three-timer after fall

Leading jockey Robert Halledeen survived a fall from the even-money favourite EL CLIENTE in the third race to boot home three winners on yesterday's 10-race programme at Caymanas Park.
His winners were 2-5 favourite ALI BABA, who romped the opening race over 1500 for champion trainer Wayne DaCosta, PRINCESS SALLEMA at 5-2 for trainer Dennis Lee in the eighth race for $180,000 claimers, and COLD GROUND at odds of 2-1 for trainer Lawrence Freemantle in the ninth race over 1820 metres for the Morty Heron Memorial Cup, confined to $250,00 - $210,000 claimers.
Halledeen, who is the number one call for the champion trainer in recent months, pushed his season's tally to 12 - three clear of former champion Omar Walker, who rode one winner in 8-5 chance PISCEAN ROCKET in the open allowance race over 1500 metres.
Halledeen said things have been looking up for him since riding on a regular basis for the DaCosta stables, and this is not by accident.
"I've been getting some good rides from the stables, and having had a good start to the season, am hoping to remain injury free. If my good form continues, anything could happen as far as the jockeys' championship is concerned", added the jockey whose mount, EL CLIENTE, stumbled midway through the last furlong and dislodged him. Luckily, he remained motionless after hitting the ground face down and avoided incoming horses.
Later in the afternoon, 2-1 favourite ZACKONTHEATTACK assumed the lead from the speedy ZARIAHRICHIEDIAMONG (2-1) leaving the quarter pole to win the closing race over 1100 metres for the Howard Phillipps Memorial Trophy by 71/2 lengths from GOLDEN BULET (5-1) in a field of 14 four-year-olds and up, non winners of three. The winner was ridden by in-form Aaron Chatrie for trainer Gary Subratie and owners We're Family.
On a day when TO THE WORLD, at 39-1, provided a stunning upset in the sixth race for maidens over 1200 metres with out-of-form Prince Holder aboard, Richard Azan saddled two winners in PISCEAN ROCKET and 3-1 chance ABBEY ROAD (made all) with champion jockey Dane Nelson aboard, both for champion owners Elite Bloodstock Limited.
