The Lions Club of St Andrew has come in for high commend-ation and congratulations from its international parent, Lions Clubs International.

This as the local club has successfully obtained and utilised a grant of US$56,250 (J$4.7 million), which it received in November 2011, for the construction of a new dental clinic in the Portmore Mall, St Catherine.

The National Health Fund also partnered with the club, by providing a substantial grant for the project.

A film crew from Lions International recently visited the island, capturing the signature projects of several clubs, and on February 5, they toured the project to produce a short video clip. The clinic is equipped with modern dental equipment, and operates Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Sandra Clark, the public relations representative of Lions International, indicated she was pleased with the local club's activity and, in speaking with a patient at the clinic, gained an appreciation for the benefit the facility is to Portmore residents.
