Rev. Dr. Paul Gardner is the new President of the Jamaica Council of Churches (JCC). He succeeds the Reverend Karl Johnson.

Reverend Johnson has criticised members of the Government and opposition.

He said the politicians are not honouring their promises to build consensus and offer moral leadership.

The former JCC head has cited the ongoing division over the issue of dual citizenship and casino gambling among his reasons for making the criticism.

Rev Johnson said public officials must exercise transparency and integrity if they are to build better relationships with the Jamaican people.
