Reggae Girlz head to Mexico

Jamaica’s senior women’s football squad is now travelling to Mexico to participate in the CONCACAF Olympic Qualification Final Round.

A 20-member squad including four overseas-based players, departed this morning along with a nine-member technical team headed by Technical Director, Rene Simoes.

They are Natalya Manyan and Shakira Duncan from Oral Roberts University and Yolanda Hamilton and Omolyn Davis from Lindsey Wilson College.

Jamaica’s first match will be against Mexico on Wednesday.

The final round also includes defending champions, USA, North Zone representative Canada, Central American side Costa Rico and Trinidad.

The top two teams will qualify for the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing, China.
