JUTC bus hits woman in Gregory Park

The driver of a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus which injured a 33-year-old woman this morning is being sought by the Caymanas Police in St. Catherine.

The police say the woman was hit by the bus while she was standing at a bus stop along the Christian Pen main road in Gregory Park.

The woman who remains in hospital in serious condition sustained injuries to her head, hands and legs.

The incident reportedly happened about 5:30 this morning.

Investigators say the driver has 24 hours in which to report the accident.

Meanwhile, the JUTC’s Communications Manager, Reginald Allen said the company’s Accident Investigation Team will be looking into the matter.
