Grenada PM dismiss LIAT claims

Prime Minster Dr. Keith Mitchell has dismissed charges by LIAT Chief Executive Office that the airline’s ability to become profitable is being hampered by landing fees and government taxes.

Mark Darby reported that despite a profit for the first time in 50 years, the airline continued to be plagued by old and new landing fees.

Dr. Mitchell is insisting that the carrier’s failures cannot be blamed on just a few government taxes.

The Prime Minister said the statement by Mr. Darby is unfortunate.
