JUTC bus crash

At least two persons were injured after a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus ran onto to the embankment near the Motherís Restaurant in Half Way Tree, St. Andrew this morning.

The injured persons include the bus driver.

JUTC Communications Director Reginald Allen, says the bus was en route to Half way Tree from Duhaney Park when the brakes failed while turning a corner.

Richard McLeod, a passenger on the bus gives his account of the incident.

Meanwhile, Mr. Allen says the bus has been sent to the examination depot for inspection.

He says an accident investigation unit is now in the process of collecting statements from passengers and eyewitnesses.
