The Guyana Sugar Corporation is preparing to counter sue the United Kingdom-based sugar industry management services provider, Booker Tate.
Booker Tate has already brought a lawsuit against the Guyana Corporation for £500,000.
Booker Tate said the claim represents outstanding sums for the management of Guyana's problem-plagued Skeldon Sugar Factory.
The Guyana Sugar Corporation has scrapped the contract with Booker Tate and has refused to pay the outstanding amount.
Corporation chairman, Nankshore Gopaul, says the company is counter suing Booker Tate because of its inefficient and improper management.
