The police high command has announced the promotion of several senior officers in the Jamaica Constabulary Force following several other appointments a few weeks ago.
Senior Superintendent Wray Palmer has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, with effective from January 15, 2011.
ACP Palmer will take charge of the Operations Branch which is part of the JCF’s Operations Portfolio.
Meanwhile, six officers have been promoted from the rank of Superintendent to Senior Superintendent.
They are Terrence Bent the Divisional Commander for the Kingston Western Division; Assan Thompson who will now be part of the Operations Branch; Derrick Knight – the St. Andrew Central divisional commander ; Colin Pinnock – the Divisional Commander for St. Catherine South; Winchroy Budhoo of the Mobile Reserve and Newton Amos of Police Area Five Headquarters.
The appointments of the Senior Superintendents took effect on February 1, 2011.
Three officers have been promoted as of February 1, 2011 from the rank of Deputy Superintendent to Superintendent.
The new Superintendents are Derrick Champagnie the Crime Officer for St. James, Clive Blair the Crime Officer for Clarendon and Warren Turner of the Mobile Reserve.
