More than 13,000 pounds of ganja destroyed

Just over 13,000 pounds of ganja was destroyed by the Police Narcotics Division on the weekend.

The Police said the contraband was used as exhibits in 96 cases that have now been disposed of in the courts.

The police said the drug, which had an estimated street value of more than $65 million was destroyed at a burning site of the Narcotics Division in Kingston.

The police said the contraband was destroyed in the presence of a Justice of the Peace and other relevant personnel.
