The police have revealed the names of the two persons killed in yesterday’s shooting incident in St James, which also left five others injured.

The dead are 20-year-old Micheal Nesbeth and 39-year-old Sharon Lawrence, both of Rose Heights, St James.

Reports from the CCN are that about 2 p.m. yesterday, all seven persons were at a barber shop in the area when they were pounced upon by a group of armed men. The men immediately opened fire, hitting all seven persons.

They were rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where Mr Nesbeth and Ms Lawrence died while undergoing treatment and the other five admitted in stable condition. Their injuries are not considered life threatening.

A gang war is believed to be behind the incident. Head of the St James Police, Senior Superintendent Linnette Williams-Martin says the attack was an attempt to kill a rival gang member who was at the location.
