Jamaica-born media practitioner Denham Jolly, will be honoured in Canada during Black History Month in February.
Frances-Anne Solomon, the chief executive officer of CaribbeanTales Worldwide Distribution, said Jolly will receive the special honour on February 4 at the Youth Film Festival.
Jolly was the driving force behind Torontoís first Black radio station, Flow 93.5FM, in 2001.
He is said to have waged a 15-year battle to get the first black radio station on the Canadian airwaves.
Jolly is also said to be one of the founding members of the Black Business and Professional Association.
