Management changes in GraceKennedy group

GraceKennedy Group CEO, Don Wehby, has announced a number of management changes within the Group.

CEO of Hardware & Lumber Simon Roberts has resigned from that post and as a director of the company’s board to take up a senior management position in GraceKennedy Foods.

The chairman of Hardware & Lumber, Erwin Burton, will act as the company’s CEO until April 1.

At that time Andrea Coy, the current general manager of the World Brands Services division of GraceKennedy, will be appointed the new Hardware & Lumber CEO.

GraceKennedy says the changes at Hardware & Lumber are being made with a view to ensuring continued growth and profitability.

Hardware & Lumber has seen consistent improvement in the last two years including a 9 per cent increase in revenues for the third quarter of 2011 compared with the similar period in 2010.

Meanwhile, Group CEO of GraceKennedy, Don Wehby says Hardware & Lumber is planning to invest $47.7 million this year to upgrade its stores.

Wehby has also announced that the Hardware & Lumber Board is considering the appointment of two independent directors, to strengthen the governance structure of the company.
