Forty-four persons are now in hospital, following a two vehicle collision along the Penn Hill main road in Manchester.

The police said most of those injured are students of various schools in the parish.

Their injuries are not considered serious.

It is reported that two buses collided, as one made its way towards Mandeville and the other towards Christiana.

The police believe the crash was caused by improper overtaking by one of the bus drivers.

Traffic had to be diverted from the area as a result of the collision.
