Three held in foiled Falmouth robbery

Three alleged gunmen are now in police custody after a foiled armed robbery attempt in the emerging tourist centre of Falmouth this morning.

Itís reported that about 8 am, a courier was held up by gunmen as he attempted to make a lodgement for his company at an ATM vault.

A plain-clothed policeman reportedly saw what was happening and engaged the gunmen.

During the alleged exchange one of the gunmen was shot.

The three men later ran.

Itís reported that in making their escape the gunmen forced a motorist from his vehicle and drove off.

Itís further reported that the men stopped the vehicle and dropped-off their crony who was suffering from gunshot wounds.

The quick action of the police led to the interception of the vehicle and the arrest of the two gunmen.

The third crony with gunshot wounds was later accosted and is now in hospital under police guard.
