Carlos Tevez arrived back in England today, and was expected to report to Manchester City's training ground later.
The 28-year-old has been in Argentina without the club's permission since November but says he wants to resume his City career.
Tevez has not played for City since the infamous Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich in September, when he was accused of refusing to warm up.
Manager Roberto Mancini initially said Tevez was "finished" at City as a result, but has recently appeared open to the possibility of the striker playing for the club again.
His dispute with Manchester City has cost him close to 10 million pounds in wages, fines and lost bonuses.
Tevez was strongly linked with moves to AC Milan, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain during the January transfer window, but none of the interest materialised into a transfer.
