Tax Administration Jamaica is reminding business operators that they now have four weeks to file their income tax returns before the March 15 deadline.

The agency says self-employed persons, companies, and other members of the workforce with additional sources of income are also required to prepare and file their Return of Income and Tax Payable for 2011 and their Declaration of Estimated Income and Tax Payable for 2012.

Director of Communications Meris Haughton is also encouraging persons to utilise the Tax Administrationís internet services to file their returns.

To file online, persons are required to first complete an Application for Electronic Filing registration form and submit it at any Tax Office or complete the registration process over the phone by calling the 1-888-TAX-HELP.

In the meantime, the Tax Administration says itís hosting a series of free Special Taxpayer Assistance Programmes at several locations across Jamaica to assist small business persons to prepare their tax returns.
