15 percent voter turnout

The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) says voter turnout for today's local government election was hovering around 15 per cent.

The ECJ says this was figure as at 11 o clock this morning.

Public Education Officer at the EOJ Christin Senior says the numbers are still coming in, but pointed out that some polling stations have recorded a voter turn-out of nearly six per cent.

She further says other stations have seen turn-outs of over 20 per cent.
