The police say they have not charged radio announcer, Wayne Whyte, in relation to an incident in which his colleague broadcaster, Jody-Ann Gray, was shot and injured.

Late Wednesday evening one of Whyte’s lawyers told The Gleaner/Power 106 News that his client had been charged with shooting with intent and would appear in Court on Friday.

But it’s reported he could be charged today.

But the Constabulary Communication Network says this is not so.

Forty-four-year-old Whyte was taken into custody minutes after Gray, who is seven months’ pregnant, was attacked at her home in Portmore, St Catherine, a week ago.

He was held along with two other men who were travelling in a car close to the scene of the shooting.

The police say the car was registered to Whyte and a woman who shares his last name.

Gray gave a statement to the police on Saturday, two days after undergoing surgery to remove a bullet that was lodged in her throat.
