Police High Command pleased with efforts to exercise restraint

Published: Sunday May 6, 2012 | 12:49 pm Comments 0

The Police High Command is this afternoon commending police personnel for exercising restraint as the constabulary aims to reduce the number of fatal shootings by the police.

In a release from the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN), this morning the police top brass said it was encouraged by the action taken by cops in the line of fire.

Pointing to recent incidents, including a shooting along Spanish Town Road yesterday, the High Command noted that there was an increase in gun attacks by criminals.

It says while cops are being urged to exercise restraint, criminals should not mistake their stance as an invitation to attack.

The High Command says the police will not be daunted from its sworn duties to protect, serve and reassure citizens and communities.
