Carib Cement, union continue wage talks

Published: Tuesday May 8, 2012 | 9:18 am Comments 0

The management of Carib Cement Company Limited and the union representing workers are to continue talks on a wage package for workers today.

The National Workers’ Union (NWU) and the management of Carib Cement have failed to reach an agreement on a wage package for workers after several meetings.

However, both parties said progress had been made at a marathon meeting on April 25.

They agreed to continue their talks on the areas of disagreement today.

The NWU said two of the major sticking points relate to the level of salary increase offered to the workers and the amount the company has offered to contribute to the employee saving scheme.
