The Grenada National Coalition on the Rights of the Child says it will be leading a protest later this month to highlight injustices against children that are happening across the country.
The event is scheduled for May 21 and a statement from the organisers has listed a number of concerns it wants the Tillman Thomas government to address.
These include an end to the incarceration of juveniles at the Richmond Hill prison, which is a violation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Grenada Prison Act of 1980.
The Coalition says it is also concerned that lenient sentences are being handed down to perpetrators of sexual crimes against children, while juveniles are being sent to prison.
This was in reference to a 16-year-old who was sent to prison because she has repeatedly ran away from her home.
