The Government has set aside $9 million for the repair and upkeep of two of the country’s major adult correctional institutions.

The allocation has been made in the 2012/13 Estimates of Expenditure.

Some $4.5 million will be used to repair cells and fund other maintenance services at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre in Kingston.

The other $4.5 million will be used to carrying out general repairs to the St. Catherine Adult Correctional Centre in Spanish Town.

The National Security ministry will implement the projects.
