The Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) has indicated that it has taken in interest in the bus crash in Portmore on Tuesday.

Eyewitnesses had claimed that the police along with inspectors from the Transport Authority were involved in a chase with the bus driver which resulted in the crash.

A 15 year-old school boy died in the incident.

However, the police have maintained that there was no chase.

Speaking at a press conference today, the head of INDECOM’s investigative unit in St. Catherine, Floyd McNabb said the office has taken note of the conflicting information and has begun preliminary work on the case.

McNabb says INDECOM will determine if it will launch an official probe after collecting further details and reviewing the information.
