SUV driver in Trelawny crash to face charges

The driver of the sport utility vehicle involved in Friday’s deadly crash in Falmouth, Trelawny in JAmaica is to face criminal charges.

The driver remains hospitalised with injuries sustained in the crash which killed five other persons.

The crash occurred after the driver of the SUV tried to overtake a bus transporting tourists and slammed head-on into a taxi.

One investigator told our News Centre that the driver will be charged with causing death by dangerous driving, as soon as he is released from hospital.

And the Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre understands that one of the tourists injured in the crash will be airlifted to the United States for treatment.

Reports say the decision to transfer the female tourist was taken after it was discovered that she suffered a fracture in her neck.
