Horseracing – Saint Cecelia to blast them away

Published: Saturday June 16, 2012 | 1:43 pm Comments 0

Reigning ‘Horse-of-the-Year’ SAINT CECELIA goes for her seventh consecutive win at Caymanas Park today when she takes on four rivals in the Eileen Cliggott Memorial Cup over 1300 metres.

When last at the races, SAINT CECELIA looked awesome when leading home the previous unbeaten American three-year-old colt BLAST THEM AWAY over 1100 metres.

Reporting even sharper for this Grade One race, SAINT CELCELIA should once again defy top weight with customary rider Shane Ellis aboard.

BLAST THEM AWAY will renew rivalry again and with the longer distance should be more comfortable this time around. Leading jockey Dane Nelson will ride the three-year-old bay colt.

The field is completed by RIO COBRE, RAISE A RUCKUS and NOON IT IS, who has won her last four races. There are 10 other races on the card and post time is 12:40 in the afternoon.
