Some 200 young persons in St James are currently undergoing training for certification in Information Communication Technology (ICT).

At the end of the training they are expected to be employed at Global Gateway Solutions, a call centre based in Montego Bay.

The project is being funded by the European Union (EU) and the Constituency Development Fund, with support from the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, the HEART/NTA and other community organisations.

Speaking at the launch on Friday, Labour Minister Derrick Kellier said the project was timely, as it provided another opportunity to develop new income earning activities for young persons.
