LIAT late in paying workers

Published: Thursday June 28, 2012 | 1:43 pm Comments 0

The management of regional airline LIAT says some of its employees who have not been paid for the month of June will receive outstanding sums by July 3.

In a memo sent to the workers yesterday, the airline explained that it was experiencing financial difficulties which were exacerbated by the recent fire at the company’s Antigua headquarters.

LIAT’s Corporate Communications Manager, Desmond Brown, said the Company is processing the salaries for all employee groups, noting wages for monthly paid employees are due at the end of the month.

Brown explained that the Company’s pay cycle varies among the different groups of LIAT employees and that some staff members have already received their June salaries.

He said all employees should be paid by Tuesday.
