Doctor charged for performing sexual acts on teenage girls

A 34-year-old medical doctor is to answer to four charges of committing sexual offences against two teenage girls.

He is to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s court on Tuesday.

According to the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN), Dr Rakesh Thomas of a Cedar Valley Road address in the Kingston 6 area, has been charged with grievous sexual assault, sexual grooming, sexual touching and sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 16.

The CCN reports that Dr Thomas allegedly lured the 14-year-old and 15-year-old girls to his office multiple times to perform various sexual acts with them.
Following an investigation by the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, he was arrested and charged.
