Track and field fans in the United Kingdom have expressed disappointment Olympic champion Usain Bolt did not turn up at Jamaica’s Open Day training camp at the University of Birmingham today.
The Open Day was planned to allow the media access to the camp.
Team manager, Ludlow Watts, says Bolt had confirmed that he would be at the venue.
Technical manager, Don Quarrie played down Bolt’s absence saying the Jamaican team is about more than just one person.
He says Bolt is 101 percent ready for the Olympics, which starts on Friday.
Also failing to show were Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Veronica Campbell-Brown, Yohan Blake, Brigitte Foster-Hylton and Asafa Powell.
The athletes will have a public meeting at Victoria Square in the city tomorrow before travelling to the Athletes’ Village.
