SERHA orders probe after nurses robbed at KPH

The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) has ordered an investigation into an incident in which nurses were robbed at the specialist Male Ward at the Kingston Public Hospital two weeks ago.

It’s understood that the robbery took place about 2 a.m.

At the time of the incident, the nurses were reportedly asleep, but woke up later to find that cash and other items had been taken from their bags.

It is believed that the nurses were drugged before the robbery took place.

However, chairman of SERHA, Lyttleton ‘Tanny’ Shirley, is upset over how the incident has been handled as no blood tests had been done on the nurses and the hospital staff could not confirm if the matter was reported to the police.
