Three men who were wanted for crimes committed in the Allman Town community in Kingston are now in police custody.

The men were held in the Ellerslie Pen community in Spanish Town, St. Catherine last night.

The police said they were held in a yard after they tried to elude a police-military team which had gone in the area in search of wanted men.

It is reported that a football match was underway in the community when the team entered the grounds and conducted a search of patrons.

It is further understood a number of persons were also taken in custody.

Checks revealed that the three men were wanted for various crimes including shootings.

The other persons were processed and released.
