South African President Jacob Zuma today lauded Jamaica's gold medal success at the Olympic Games in London.

"I congratulate Jamaica for winning gold medal at the Olympic Games in London," Zuma said during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller at Jamaica House a short while ago.

He said it is clear that Africans all over the diaspora are making their presence felt and Jamaica is among the strongest of those countries.

Zuma is on a one-day State visit to the island to participate in activities planned to mark Jamaica's 50th anniversary of independence.
