The National Works Agency is to embark on a major road rehabilitation programme on the roadway leading from Morant Bay to Hector’s River in St. Thomas.

Senior Communications Officer Colin Morrison says the project, which will begin this week will cost $60 million.

He says the roadwork to be done includes bushing, drain-cleaning, the re-laying of culverts and the raising of the road level in some sections.

Morrison says the 30-kilometer stretch of road will also be covered with asphalted concrete.

He says the project is expected to be completed within 12 weeks.
