Fire personnel are now conducting cooling down operations at the northern section of the Pearnel Charles Arcade in downtown Kingston.

Town Clerk of the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation, Errol Greene, says Block B at the arcade was extensively damaged by a fire about 6:45 this morning.

Meanwhile, the police have blocked a section of Church Street at East Parade as
firemen continue their operations.

Greene says the cause of the fire has not yet been identified.
