Woman arrested for smuggling ganja into prison

A woman was today arrested and charged after the police found ganja in a slipper she took for a prisoner during visiting hours at the Gun Court Remand Centre.

The police say about 3:30 p.m., 20-year-old Suzan Gaynor of Love Lane, Kingston attended the Gun Court Remand Centre to visit a prisoner who was held there.

According to the police, during a search of the clothing the ganja was found hidden in the sole of a slipper.

The woman was then arrested and charged for breaching the Correctional Act and for illegal possession of ganja.

She is to scheduled to appear in Court on Wednesday.
