Jamaica’s global sprint king Usain Bolt has thanked his fans for their support during his 2012 track and field season, which ended last week in Brussels.

Bolt, who returned to the country at the weekend, said there were lots of doubters following his double defeat to training partner Yohan Blake at the Jamaica Olympic Trials.

However, the world’s fastest man said his true fans stuck with him going into the London 2012 Olympics despite his low moments.

Bolt said he accomplished exactly what he hoped at the London Olympics.

Usain Bolt declared himself "the greatest athlete" to have lived, after becoming the first person to successfully defend back-to-back Olympic 100 and 200-metre titles at London 2012.
