Three-year-old Sachin Levers was killed in a motor vehicle crash on the Mammee Bay main road in St. Ann this morning.

The police say about 1:30 a.m., the child was being transported to hospital when the Toyota motor car in which he was travelling crashed into a tree; the vehicle overturned, injuring the child and his father, who was also a passenger in the motor vehicle.

The police say both were taken to hospital, where Sachin was pronounced dead and his father admitted in stable condition.

The driver of the motor car has since been charged with several breaches of the Road Traffic Act, including driving without a driverís licence, driving an unlicensed motor car, driving without insurance coverage, and driving without a valid certificate of fitness.
