The Jamaica Employers’ Federation (JEF) has given an assurance that it will promote the Jamaica Employ Initiative among its members.

The initiative, which was launched recently by Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller with support from the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC), seeks to create 40,000 new jobs in the economy.

First vice-President of the JEF Bernita Locke says her organisation will be encouraging its members to get on board by employing one additional qualified Jamaican to help make the initiative a success.

Miss Locke was speaking at a ceremony last Thursday to honour over 100 persons who recently completed training in the areas of supervisory management, as well as, cleaning and sanitation techniques.
