The Very Reverend Canon Hartley Perrin has been appointed the new custos of Westmoreland.

Perrin is the rector of the Petersfield and Darliston Circuit of Anglican Churches.

He replaces Owen Sinclair who retired as Custos of Westmoreland on August 31, after serving in that position for eleven years.

Perrin was sworn in at a private ceremony at King’s House on Wednesday.

King’s House says the official installation ceremony will be held in Westmoreland at a date to be announced.

Custos Perrin’s appointment takes effect on Monday October 1.

He was named custos on the recommendation of Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller.

Governor General Sir Patrick Allen has acknowledged Sinclair for the dignity and sincerity which he executed his duties.
