All seem set for the big celebration at the National Arena this evening to recognize the achievements of Jamaica’s athletes at the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.
The musical show will feature Evangelist Sandra Brooks; mento sensation The Jolly Boys, reggae greats Leroy Sibbles, Marcia Griffiths and Freddie McGregor; along with dancehall artistes I-Octane, Konshens and Beenie Man.
Minister with responsibility for Sports, Natalie Neita Headley says the 6,000 tickets for the event have all been distributed.
The event will be televised and screens will be set up outside the Arena to accommodate additional persons.
Persons will also be able to view the event in Half-Way Tree and at Dump Up Beach in Montego Bay.
Neita Headley says cheques have been prepared for the athletes and that they have all expressed appreciation for the financial token.
