Sir Florizel Glasspole Boulevard to reopen this afternoon

The National Works Agency (NWA) says the west bound lanes of the Sir Florizel Glasspole Boulevard in eastern Kingston will be reopened to traffic this afternoon.

The roadway was closed for six weeks to facilitate repairs to a section of the pavement in the vicinity of the Caribbean Cement Company Limited Sales Office.

The agency says the repair work included the construction of an underground drainage system while sections of the road were also milled and repaved using Asphaltic Concrete.

It says the project was carried out in house by one of the Agency’s Force Account Teams in collaboration with cement company personnel.

The NWA says the project was jointly funded by the Road Maintenance Fund and the Caribbean Cement Company Limited.
